About Me

I was born and educated in England, but spent much of my working life in Southern Africa and I have a personal appreciation of how different cultures may affect relationships.

My background is in Business Administration and Teaching which is what initially led me into counselling.

I work as an Integrative Counsellor—this just means  I am able to draw from a range of concepts from a number of counselling theories which can be tailored to suit your specific needs.

As an accredited member of the BACP, I abide by their ethical framework which protects both the client and the counsellor (see weblink) and I am registered with the Professional Standards Authority (see logo above).

I also have an interest in working with dreams and with the difficulties ageing can bring to our lives.

My main interests include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • low self esteem
  • anger management
  • loneliness
  • Bereavement*
  • stress or work related issues
  • relationship issues
  • retirement issues
  • Counselling for couples
  • Lack of purpose and direction
